Mechanical Design Engineer — Sheet Metal & Mechanisms

Fit cameras and lights into tight spaces on industrial machines, release production-ready drawings · 3–7 years

1 positionCoimbatoreFull-timeApply in about 10 minutes

The role

Design the mounts, enclosures and mechanisms that put our cameras and lights in tricky positions on industrial machines — mostly sheet metal, with some machined parts. You release clean drawings and BOMs, and give operations the documentation they need for every system to perform perfectly in the field.

What you will do

  • Conceptualise how cameras, lights and electronics fit into tight, awkward positions on knitting and other industrial machines.
  • Design sheet-metal brackets, enclosures and mounts, plus machined parts where needed — built for vibration, dust and easy installation.
  • Release production-quality 2D drawings with correct tolerances, and keep BOMs and revisions accurate.
  • Do the design calculations: bend allowance, tolerance stack-up, loads, fasteners, motor sizing where mechanisms are involved.
  • Work with fabricators and machinists, and solve fitment problems on the shop floor and at customer sites.
  • Give operations and service clear assembly and installation documentation, so every system works first time in the field.

Who we are looking for

  • 3–7 years in mechanical design, mostly sheet metal; machined components a plus.
  • Strong in a 3D CAD tool such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Creo or Inventor, and AutoCAD for 2D.
  • Experience with mechanisms and standard components: pneumatics, motors, bearings, linear guides.
  • You have released drawings and BOMs that went into production — and fixed what didn't fit.
  • BE / BTech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Practical: you visit the shop floor and talk to the fitter before you finalise a design.

Your first year

  • First 30 days: learn our products, current brackets and enclosures, and how fabrication and installation work today.
  • By 60 days: own the design of one mounting or enclosure from concept to released drawings and BOM.
  • By 90 days: a clean drawing and BOM standard in use, and fewer fitment issues reported from the field.
